What is BFKA?

BFKA is a karate association founded by the grandmaster who brought his training from Yangon (Myanmar) to Bangladesh. Through BFKA, martial arts training — for kids, teens, and adults — is offered nationwide.

The association was started by Grandmaster Ostad Jahangir Alam. He began training in 1966 under instructors in Yangon and earned his black belt and later 8th Dan. He returned to Bangladesh and in 1972 founded the first BFKA club at Cox’s Bazar Government College. In 1974 he established a club in Chattogram (at Chittagong Stadium). Over time, BFKA expanded across many districts in Bangladesh.

BFKA’s programs are designed for kids, teens and adults — meaning people of different ages and fitness levels can join.

By training with BFKA, members can: build a stronger body and mind; increase confidence; improve fitness; develop discipline; enhance concentration and behavior; reduce stress; and ultimately have the opportunity to earn a black belt.

BFKA offers structured training packages (for different age groups: kids, teens, adults). Through regular training, members can learn karate basics, advance through belt levels, and — for serious students — work toward black belt and advanced ranks.

BFKA began in Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram, and over time expanded to many districts across Bangladesh. You should check the “Clubs” (or equivalent) page for the most updated list of club branches.
